The historic High Bridge becomes
the symbol for a small town with
a rich heritage.

The bridge stands proudly as a witness to our civil war past — the Confederate and Union armies sought to destroy it to prevent the other from crossing the Appomatox River.

As host city to the only U.S. Vice Presidential debate in 2016, a branding initiative went underway to showcase the charming spirit of the otherwise quiet town in the heart of Virginia. The collective advertising efforts (digital, traditional, social media) and responsive website became the main sources of information for the public, journalists, and major news outlets covering the event.

On debate night, 37 million viewers tuned in to the City of Farmville.

The successful venture was lauded as the first (and much acclaimed) collaboration between Farmville’s tourism and civic communities and catalyzed further engagements between the two entities.
